Nouvel arrêt à Detroit, pour vous parler d’une des scènes les plus bouillantes du moment. Marqué par la rivalité East side et Ouest side, le gangsta rap local s’est construit au tournant du millénaire, notamment autour du regretté Blade Icewood, tué en 2005 à la suite de tensions fortes entre les 2 parties de la ville. Après avoir posé ces fondements, nous évoquons les Doughboyz Cashout, menés par Payroll Giovanni et qui ont ravivé la flamme de cette scène au début des années 2010, bien aidés par le producteur Helluva Beats. S’ensuit un état des lieux des forces en présence en 2020, qu’on retiendra peut être comme l’année de Sada Baby, qui pourrait bien s’imposer comme le patron de Detroit. Pour finir, nous nous demandons quelle est la place de cette scène fourmillante au milieu du paysage rapologique des US.
