Nous nous arrêtons cette fois dans la Baie de San Francisco, où la vague Hyphy, emmenée par Mac Dre et E-40 a influencé toute la West Coast au début des années 2000.
On commence par une petite présentation de la Baie, de sa scène musicale et de l’arrivée du rap dans les années 80 avec Too $hort. On décrypte ensuite les spécificités du mouvement Hyphy et les artistes qui s’en sont revendiqués, en insistant tout particulièrement sur deux légendes locales, Mac Dre et E-40. En fin d’émission, on analyse ce qu’il reste de cette période et quels artistes en sont les héritiers.
