Pour cette émission, enregistrée dans le contexte particulier du confinement, nous avons décidé de nous arrêter enfin à Detroit. Pour cette première incursion (oui il y en aura d’autres) dans celle qu’on nomme la Motor City pour la prédominance de son industrie automobile, nous avons abordé le côté plus versé East Coast de la ville. Après avoir comme d’habitude présenté le contexte socio-historique puis la riche histoire musicale de la Motown, nous nous sommes attaqués à un des monuments de cette ville au niveau du rap, la producteur légendaire et regretté J Dilla. Ce dernier a laissé un héritage immense et a compté quelques continuateurs comme Black Milk, Karriem Riggins ou Apollo Brown. En fin d’émission nous évoquons aussi quelques uns des nombreux rappeurs de Detroit qui ont évolué dans cette sphère illuminée par Jay Dee.
